I now live rurally, and took this image last night ... sleeping outside under the magic of these multiple galaxies.
The brightness of the planets were particularly visible, already pointing towards a celestial alignment taking place 28 February '25: Mercury, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and Venus will collectively create an alignment which will be visible to the naked eye, as it was last night. Curious about how often the planets align in this visible way, I was intrigued to learn that a sighting of all the planets happens once every 396 billion years ...what do concepts of 'time' mean - or matter - in this spatial and celestial vastness?
There is something about this alignment that excites me to the core: it is happening by itself ... the planets know the collective ways of movement whilst communicating in celestial linguistics. The alignment is simply happening as it should; a collaboration in the making.
This is the way that I feel about a project coming up in Mangaung mid-year: it is a collaboration that is organically happening. It is organising itself - aligning - as a Being that is difficult to convey in human language .... what remains through time, slowness and stillness ( exhibition title) is pulling in those that she knows she needs to align with.
It is simple.
It is happening as it should.
