Daily Maverick

This image, taken by photographer Bronwyn Trupp during the 2019 Tankwa Artscape Residency held in the arid Karoo (South Africa) depicts me offering a plea of forgiveness to the Land. Linked to this is a video piece titled Please forgive me which, in collaboration with composer Franco Prinsloo (South Africa), will debut in 2020. The article, written by Leonie Joubert, comments primarily on the participating artists at Tankwa Artscape and how, through their individual approach to art-making as land artists, are able to offer insight regarding ways in which art is able to address the impending climate crisis.
